- I bought this mattress to replace the coil one I bought from Walmart that was awful and I returned. This one is cheaply made, but it will do. The inside is firm but not dense poly foam. I think it will be adequate for an infant. I am using it in a vintage portacrib, 24X38. This mattress actually measures 2 X 22.5 X 36.5. With a thick pad and sheet, it fits ok. The cover is thin plastic, embossed to look quilted but it is NOT quilted, there is no padding. This mattress is nothing special, just a piece of foam covered in thin plastic. I could have made it, but for the price, not worth the trouble. I am satisfied with my purchase.
