    • This is a great microwave at a great price, but there is real confusion about it that has hurt its rating. Here is the real scoop: What the heck is a Sensor and Inverter? These are the key features of this oven and it not explained anywhere except in a few reviews here. The Inverter gives smooth heating at a lower rate when you use anything less than full power. This is far superior to other microwaves that turn the power on and off at lower power settings. To get an inverter at this price is a great deal! The Sensor is a moisture sensor. It allows the oven to gauge when cooking of certain items is done. Another great feature not well explained. This also relates to another aspect of this microwave that is actually an amazing feature. Because it has a moisture sensor, the oven is able to determine if there is excess moisture after you heat something in it. If there is, it will keep the vent fan on until it detects the moisture level is lower. A lot of people who purchased this oven gave it bad reveiws because they thought the oven wasn’t turning off, and had to unplug it to get it to stop running. That’s not the case! In fact, I bought this oven to replace one that had rusted out because of moisture. Bravo Oster! Otherwise, the oven is pretty darned good in general. The numbers are super bright, which is startling at first, but I’ve come to enjoy it since it works as a clock and is super easy to see. One very minor quibble is that the buttons are a bit darkly colored, but overall, not a huge deal. It also has a handle instead of a button — another great feature that makes it super easy to open and close. BTW, I paid for this baby straight up, although I certainly wouldn’t have minded getting one for free, heh heh. The review wouldn’t have been different either way. Worth every penny I spent on it! The oven itself has a large interior and so does take up quite a bit of counter space.
    • I bought this microwave as opposed to some of the others because I have all black appliances in my kitchen. It is black, and matches my other appliances perfectly. I also wanted a microwave with a door handle, instead of a push button to open the door. I got the 1.6 cu ft. microwave because I can always put small dishes in it, but I can’t make it any bigger for larger dishes. Whether you only use a microwave to reheat left overs, heat up beverages, or soup, or you use it to fix complete meals, this is the right one for you. The available programming options for this microwave are normally only found on more expensive microwaves, and it is extremely easy to operate. HOWEVER: this microwave has one feature that the manufacturer should make clearer to the customer, to avoid thinking that the microwave is broken. This model microwave has a “cool-down” feature programmed into it, that the owners manual only barely mentions, and if you don’t know about it, it will mislead you into thinking that the microwave has a problem. Anytime the microwave is used for more than two minutes, it doesn’t matter if you wait until the food is cooked by the timer, or just open the door, the fan in the microwave keeps running!!! “cool-down” There is nothing you can do about it, it is programmed to do this. The stop button will not turn it off, you can only turn it off by unplugging it from the wall outlet. THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM, it is programmed to do this, but if you are not aware of this “cool-down” period, you will probably be alarmed that your microwave keeps running with the door open……..AGAIN: the manufacturer should make the customer aware of this, so it won’t be returned to the store du to malfunctioning……
    • Rocky is right. Microwave is supposed to run an extra minute to cool down. Anything longer than 2 mins gets cool down time. This replaced an old Kenmore micro/convection oven. I am totally happy with it.
    • People don’t be afraid to buy this microwave because other people don’t read the instructions…. the microwave does keep running after you open the door, because it is supposed to…. unlike other microwaves, this one has a COOL DOWN FEATURE…. THAT ALLOWS THE FAN TO KEEP RUNNING….
    • This microwave was fine at first, but after a couple days of using it I discovered that sometimes if I open the door before the time is up, or if the microwave is on a sensory mode, it won’t shut off, and you have to unplug it for it to turn off.
