Makes good bread. Like vertical pan because small hole at end of loaf, so fewer damaged slices. Slices are a bit large for most regular toasters. This is my 4th breadman in twenty five years. Two, the pan wore out, but the last one the heating element failed after 18 months.
This one actually surprised me. I love the super rapid feature. When I am in a hurry, I can just start it and have bread in an hour.

I am using this bread maker since over 8 years now. It is very easy to use. You just put all ingredients in the pan, and the bread maker does all the work. This bread maker is reliable and has many features. I usually bake bread 2-3 times per week.This is so much healthier than eating the store-bought bread. There are few ingredients, and you always know what is in your loaf. Also, their customer service is excellent. They go above and beyond to help and resolve any issue. Just for that I would buy it again.
I had the exact same model for a 10 years somehow the bread pan got broken so I ordered a new machine, the exact same one, and it works just fine. I’ve made bread and dough for cinnamon rolls. The bread was delicious and the dough was perfect. I think it’s all about putting the ingredients in in the right order.
Maddi, maybe you just got a bad machine. I’ve had my Breadman roughly 10 years. I’ve never had a problem with no brown top. If anything, even on light, the crust comes out too dark most of the time. However, I bake only with whole grain flours. If you place the loaf in a plastic bag while it’s cooling the crust will remain soft. I agree the shape is odd. So, I cut each loaf in half (from top to bottom) to accommodate for the shape. The fact that you have to pull the paddle out of the bottom does annoy me because it leaves a gaping hole in some of the slices. Although I haven’t ever looked inside other vertical loaf machines but I can’t imagine they have any different outcomes in terms of shape. Form follows function. You can’t expect all the advantages of an oven-baked loaf from a vertical oriented machine. But you should be getting a decent brown top.

I’m about to throw away my SECOND perfectly functional Breadman. The machine works fine; I’ve used it once a week for about three years, and it’s still going strong. (Same with the first one!) However, for the second time, the bearings in the bottom of the pan have worn out. This seems reasonable, with the time and intensity of use. What is unreasonable, however, is that I cannot replace the pan! So, for want of a new pan (which I would be happy to purchase), I have to throw out the entire machine. So, I’m now shopping for a different company and product, one that will let me replace the parts that I expect to wear out. Fool me twice, shame on me.
